What's the best way to heat a three season room in chicago
It has glass windows on three sides. The fouth wall has sliding glass doors
into the kitchen. There is a ceiling fan and l am putting in a porcelan
tile floor with a heating pad underneath it.The room is 12 x 23 and l am
heating 10 x 20 feet of the floor.
The heating pad is going to help quite a bit. But it may not
completely do the trick. If there is no other heating source for that room
you can consider leaving the door open to allow heat to vent in from the
rest of the house, however, expect ur heating bills to go up
significantly.
A few alternatives would be to put a clear vinyl/plastic film on the windows. It will block a little of the light, but you will still be able to see out, & it will give another layer of protection from heat loss. You can also try putting the heating pad under the entire floor, or getting some baseboard electric heaters for under the windows.
Your heating pad should do it with the sliding door left open.
